I've been looking at possibly scooping up a Real Steel S6 for a while now. I just wanted to know if anyone has one here, and can bestow upon me some more info and whether they're worth the $ or not. Youtube has a few videos, but they're mostly in a language I can only guess at! The S571 I know has been well received, especially by Mr. Cleary, but has anyone had any issues with either knife?

By "high end" do you mean the limited versions with D2 steel? I've looked at them a couple times but never bought because they just didn't seem enough of an upgrade over the standard model. I've got several RealSteel "standard" knives and they're great. I particularly like the H6, H6-S1, H5 and the E775 button lock.

Prices seem to be creeping up but for now they're a great value!

Oops, just noticed you specifically said "S6", sorry bro.

Yes, primarily the models with titanium. Ive had a base model H6 before as well, and thought it was great for its price point. However the new high end line especially the S6 im liking, I just dont know if I want to spend $150 on a VG10 knife from china. Would making the steel elmax like the S571 really drive the price out of the ballpark?

I don't have any experience with the S6 but I own an S571 Pro. I actually had two of them but sold one.

I'm in the process of doing a write-up on the S571 but, long story short, I wouldn't recommend the S571 unless you get a phenomenal deal (like, close to half price). For the retail price of the S571, there are similarly priced knives that are considerably better.

Also, compared to the other big Chinese knife makers (Kizer, Reate, and Rike), Real Steel's quality, or lack thereof, just doesn't stand up.

That was my feeling. You can find Kizers with Titanium and S35VN for a little over $100. That makes the upscale RealSteels seem out of touch on price.

I was disappointed in the S571. The lockbar spring strength was wimpy and it wasn't ground thin enough. Nice materials, poor execution.
I actually prefer the S6. My only complaint with that one is that a fair amount of handle sticks out of the pocket.

I think I bought my S571s from you, right? I agree that the lock bars felt very wimpy. I actually disassembled one and bent the lock bar over to make it stiffer, which helped with the lock-up and flipping action quite a lot. The biggest issue I ran into was the super shallow T8 screws. I took the knife apart once and the fastener drives are already in bad shape.
