Looking at the current SOG lineup shows the high-end is still looking good (love the look of the mini spec-elite), but I'm also seeing a lot more of the lower end creeping in. What I'm wondering is if there is any current interest from SOG or the customer base for a non-one hand opening, possibly non-locking folding knife, either done in the US or Japan? Honestly the slipzilla does nothing for me, I'm not convinced on the chinesse quality, and opening holes are a no-go for me in Australia.
The mini-spec or spec1 without the thumbstud, and some sort of slip-joint type mechanism would be great. On the one hand, stick to what you know, but at the same time, there are very few big solid slipjoints on the market, outside of the typical traditional brands.
Also, just for the SOG folks, I know that a lot of the decisions are business ones, but when most of the web traffic about SOG is about how bad the lower end of the product range is, it does not represent the company well. And given that there is getting to be a huge difference in the range, it makes it harder for the average consumer to figure out why one SOG feels great, and another might as well be in a jar on the counter at a gas station.
