High-falutin' gents knives: Mine's a Buck 526 Executive. What's yours?

Here's the scenario, guys. You've just been named Coolest Knife Nerd at bladeforums.com and are getting dressed in your tux for the black tie affair awards ceremony (don't worry, afterwards, when the ladies head home, we'll all switch into jeans and smoke big cigars, whittle and tell lies). So, what knife goes into your pocket for the evening?

For me, it'd be my Buck 526 Executive.

I've always thought of this as my classiest knife. Simple and elegant and still - being a Buck - very substantial and useful. I can't see James Bond carrying a stag peanut, but the 526? Definitely.

What about you guys?

Not that I am naming any names, but behind my back, another moderator on this forum got together with a maker who posts here on occasions and shares a lot of information with us on a knife for me. (I was in line with the maker for any knife he felt like making.)

Anyway, I have been carrying this knife for a couple or three years on those fancier occasions (it has also spent some time in jean pockets too.)

Not that I am naming names, but thanks Ken and Elliott. I love this knife as a tool as well as how it came about. :D.

Hi mnblade -

I would take my Redrummd (M. Hoover) Case Mini-Trapper that was re-scaled with Deschutes Pictured Jasper.

Probably my Case Norfolk or my GEC melon whittler. They're both tres classy. Ooh la la!

My Voss stockman. Good stag scales that wont scare people, looks good, and is a great knife all around. I can't go wrong with it.

If I were actually in line to go get a tux for a formal affair, it may be the push I'd need to go get that pearl and damascus peanut. Yeah, a new knife to make the occasion!

That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Carl.

I would carry my Alox Cadet. Slim, classy looking knife with LOTS of function. Yep, Cadet would be the one for me.

I'm not good at choosing but one leader of the pack would be the Mike Alsdorf teardrop jack below. I've been pocketing it lately, and heck I wear a suit every day.

I don't change my knives because I change my pants but if I HAD to slip a smaller knife in my pocket it would probably be this GEC Northfield Wharncliffe Jack.

Case Stag and Damascus Butterbean...with matching cufflinks.
OK I lied about the cufflinks.

I'd have to buy a new knife too. I've got a few that I like but nothing of tux/black tie affair quality.

If I had to choose from the current stash it would probably be this Buck 510. Just because it has some fancy schmancy stamping and polished pins and a mirror polished blade

This one would be my first choice...from Ken Erickson:

Shucks, Gus, what's the fun if you can't do nice things and surprise your friends?:thumbup:

(Thanks for the good thoughts, they always brighten my day.)

For me its been a Northwoods Gunstock in Tortoise Shell Acrylic and D2, I've been EDCing it in a KSF Leather slip case.

More than one NKP has commented on what a pretty little knife it is.

It would have to be this Moki or a red boned Kiwi. Both appear to have been made in the same factory.

Some nice looking knives in here :)

I guess I would have to go with this Tidioute. It looks like kind of elegant to me.
