Hello fellow edged aficionados,

Beta titanium alloy blade-making has been forging ahead, with steady improvements in blade performance. Here is a bush whacker that is one of my new favorites yet, an all-purpose cutting tool that should prove to be an irreplaceable trail companion for Bladeforums member [Classified].

Specifications:

OAL: 25"
Blade length: 18"
Weight: 15.2 ounces
Width at ricasso: 3/16" tapering to 3/32"
Alloy: Forged 89.5Ti 10Nb 0.5Fe titanium
Grip: Neoprene, waxed nylon cord and deerskin lace

The photos were taken in haste and don't properly show the pink and green colors in the ricasso area!

Thanks for looking. :]

that's a nice little EDC
really like the hammer marks on the pommel region. And overall I'd say your work has taken big steps!
can't wait to see where you go once the equipment arrives :)

I bet the distal taper makes her feel real lively in the hand. Would love to lay hands on some of your work

I think I might have an idea about who it's for

Congrats to you both !
Mecha, what do you reckon the hardness of the Ti is ?

Doug

I think he likes hats.

Thanks kindly, fellas. I reckon the HRc is right around 50, although I haven't tested any of the latest ones.

BladeMan all I can do is cackle maniacally thinking about you unboxing that chopper. BAHAHAHAHA!:D

Lorien, the new forging equipment is likely to eliminate most hammer-marks from these blades, which is bittersweet. The hammer-hits can look spontaneously marvelous sometimes when they are true, and not added for effect. But their absence will allow for larger, cleaner, more precise billets.

Got it, daaaaaaamn. Zombies here i come BAHAHAHAHAHA :D

Actually, i don't like them ;)

D'oh! I'm not a very good guesser :(
Well, whatever the case, this sword will make you happy!
this one looks amazing, and Sam gets better with every hammer blow.
do you intend to use it?

Looks tasty... bushwacker? How is that compared to an undergrowth organizer? cheers!

do you intend to use it?

Yes, absolutely! I asked Sam for a thicker Specimen cleaver with a Tip for an all purpose blade. It will be mounted on my backpack.

BTW, Sam, it feels fantastic in the hand like you said. :D

I was so impressed with the performance of the one I've been using. I'll miss it greatly :(
But... :)

btw, will there be a mecha folder?

Yessir, I'd like to make a locking friction folder. Still brainstorming a novel lock.

Excellent, I hope it becomes your favorite go-to wilderness whacker. The blade should require almost no maintenance.
