So you guys know, I only put a machine edge on this thing for testing. Once it gets its "Fletcher Edge" it will be far better.

First I testing it's chopping power on some seasoned Hickory. This wasn't the thickest stuff, maybe 1.5-2" thick, but if you've never tried to chop through this stuff, it's a chore.

It only took a fe whacks and it was done. This blade bites DEEP.

Then I found what was left of a 2xsomething. IT MUST DIE!!!

I thought the tip needed some hate-time to make sure it's tough enough so I stabbed it into the 2xsomething and started drilling.

Now it was off to the woods to see how the blade would work on green stuff.
This little tree was about maybe 1.25" thick.

All it took was one thwack!

Now to test out the carving... Keep in mind, this is still just the machine edge I put on it.

So far, no damage. Just some scuff. You can clearly see the edge in some of these pictures and see that there is no damage, chipping, rolling, etc.

Well, though sexy with the dirt on her face, she is certainly none worse for the beating. I have full trust in this blade. It has so far exceeded my expectations. I'm very happy with this design.

Here she is after a quick clean up. You can see that other than some small scuffs, she's, as my father would say, "just like a brand-f@#$in'-new one."

Here she is giving a pep-talk to her soon-to-be sister.

AWESOME!!!!!

Is the lower one what they look like after heat treat? If I bought one, I'd like the flats to be black like that, with an edge that looked like the finished one. Yum!!

Great work, Great knife Dylan and that is an understatement ! On a side note I had a pair of those vans in 1984 .

I wanna know what you and Andy do with all that wood you guys are always chopping? You need to get a BBQ pit and throw a party once in awhile to burn up all that wood!

That's actually a really good idea! We need to build an old school brick pit out there. He has a grill, but it's just hard to beat a few oil-drum smokers and a good brick pit.

I don't like it, no not one bit. Maybe if I can get my hands on it for a day or two it could grow on me. You have my address.

Looks like an excellent large bladed knife for a multitude of uses. Any idea when available for purchase?

Nevermind, just saw another thread mentioning after the show they will be offered. Thanks.
