This K-Horn went for a tidy sum. Interesting it has 98OT stamped on the master instead of 896.

I'd say the "sample" sticker, condition and the 000 serial number had something to do with the price, still more than it's worth IMHO

is it possible this knife came from the final Schrade days when mis-matched parts were sometimes used ?

This knife is much older than the closing knives being producded in 2004 in my opnion there is no chance. Maybe if it were a newer old timer or Uh or even a newer open stock but this one no way.

Or maybe a parts knife someone pieced together and stuck a "sample" sticker on the box?
