I am in the market for an assisted opener ($50-$110), some of my ideas were: benchmade stryker, benchmade torrent, crkt hissatsu, kershaw shallot, kershaw avalanche, and any of your recomendations other than these.

Kershaw Leeks are very nice and come in all kinds of handle materials. There's also a few Buck models out there I have the 292 Impulse that is a very good assisted opener.

kershaw has several models in your price range.

If you want heavy duty and are willing to spend a bit more, look at Zero Tolerance knives.

Kershaw OD green blur with CPM154 steel, very nice !!

+1. Have one here in front of me and yes it is. :D

One of the G-10 Tyrades if you can still find one is an excellent deal. Composite blade with a CPM D2 cutting edge backed by a CPM 154 spine. Its a big knife, but carries well in my pocket.

BTW: Welcome to BladeForums.

I also recemend a Benchmade Mini Barrage!!!!! Tough as nails, Axis lock and great steel!

I know this is a little over your price range :foot:, but for around $112 you can pick up a ZT0350, or you may be able to snag a used one in the exchange that will fit into your price range. Welcome to Bladeforums

I like my Kershaws: G-10 Leek, Shallot, G-10 Tyrade. I also like my SOG Flash II.

If I had to pick one to recommend, I'd say go for a Shallot. They come in a few configurations.

ZT 0350. Shop around on the fs/ft. You'll find one soon enough in new condition for around 100ish.

I will recommend something from Kershaw, either the Blur or the Speed or Spec Bump are good choices. One thing to consider is that if you need a part for the assist mechanism, Kershaw will send it to you. Benchmade requires the knife to be sent in for repairs. Other companies I am not sure of.

Any Kershaw. Specifically one of the exotic steel shallots, CPM 154 OD green blur, Spec/speedbump, and a ZT if you're wanting a monster.

Benchmade has plastic-fantastic scales on their barrage....ew. Benchmade requires you to send in the knife for repairs.. if you take it apart, it "voids the warranty" ...

Sog--their steel is subpar for the given price.

Not trying to deal spot, but you can find an original Tyrade with CF inserts on a Ti framelock for about $30 above your price range. You'd have a tough time finding a better knife for the price anywhere.

Wouldn't be considered Deal-spotting since Dave is a Dealer here.
It's right there in his sig line. :D We like Dave
