This would be my idea of the perfect bowhunting/ great outdoors knife.

Start with a Mini-Jungle (M-J from now on) blade that had either a matte blued finish or a black teflon finish. The handle would be made of either rosewood or teak, would be a little thicker than the standard M-J and would have some tastefull checkering. The tang would be extended, so you could have a pommel with a lanyard hole.

The chakmak would be the same size/profile but would be ground out of a fine diamond file. The edges would be smooth so you can still use it as a burnisher, and the fine file would let you sharpen the blade, broadheads, fish hooks, whatever.

The karda would be made out of a good stainless steel ats-34, 440v, whatever. This would be a good small game/ trout knife and would also give you a good small knife for the times when you need something smaller than the full size blade. The handles of the chakmak and karda would also be checkered wood.

There would be two sheaths. The first would be a kydex sheath that would feature multi-carry options, and would have holders for the Chakmak and karda. The other would be a leather sheath like the original, but the brass tip would be decorated. The frog would be made of thicker leather, and would have some tastefull tooling done on the band.
The idea here is that the kydex would be you using sheath, and the decorated leather sheath would be your display sheath.

Did I miss anything?

P: Stop it! You're making me drool. Actually, I have thought of this project, but I'm not ready - I want to wait and see how the WWIII comes out. But I do think that there is a real market out there for people who like "modern" blades but want a khukuri that's real and that has some spirit and character. I've always maintained that the Nepali blades (GH or HI) are a completely different breed than the "production" khukuris of CS. Sure, they look similar, but they perform different functions. The WWIII (and your fantasy blade) are a good meeting ground between the two camps.

Hey Craig,

How about a WWIII with checkered wood and the upgraded Chakmak and Karda like I discused above. I would prefer a blade style like the CS bird and trout knife, or failing that just a plain old drop point blade.

P1445: I can definitely do a special order for you, but I'd prefer not to call it the WWIII (see the other thread). Email me and we can discuss it. I have an idea that I think will work nicely.
