I've been looking for a go-to woods knife for quite a while and its seems like everyone has an opinion of "best". I have a BRKT B1 SS but don't like the handle shape that much or the thumb ramp. I've looked at several others like the Aurora (long handle) and lots of customs (Fiddleback, BHK, Koster, etc., etc., etc.) I've noticed my High Street is a good size, although the shape is totally different than most so-called "bushcraft" knives. I love the HS, the handle is great, overall size is great, etc. I think the grind is a little too wide for wood working but I can fix that easily on my belt sander. I also looked at the CABS (now off the site) but I'm thinking I already have my knife - or else I just don't know enough to know why the HS is NOT a good bushcraft knife.
Is anyone currently using the HS for a woods/bushcraft knife? I know most knives in the BC/Woods category don't have a choil. Will the choil cause a lot of problems under normal "BC" usage? Should I attempt to get the CABS because it will be superior to the HS as a bushcraft knife?
