The weather forecast showed beautiful weather and I promised to take my daughter out camping before I have to leave again in Oct, so I figured better time than any. Packed up the car and headed out. As always something had to delay us and we left a little late, as such, all my favorite places that I know are big enough for our Springbar tent were taken. So I had to search for a new spot... found one, did not even see it before, just BARELY big enough to accommodate the huge tent I am pretty much required to take with us. Set up, have dinner then dink around, the next day we head up the road a little further for some photo time. My daughter has been learning about outdoors and camping in preschool so I figured we would take a few photos, develop them, and take them in as a show n tell. Talk about great timing. Didn't have the camera, but a dozen Ferrari's and Lambo's shot up Mirror lake highway, quite a sight. Sorry I missed it.

Hope no one minds me showing them off a bit.

Our camp site, the tent is just to the left of the frame, love sleeping to the sound of a running stream.

Hayden peak overlook, follow the trail to the left a little while and it gives a great photo of moosehorn lake from above.

Bald Mountain overlook with surrounding country side. Really like how the lakes look from up here.

After getting, home cleaning up, having dinner, we watched the firework show from the ball game, then she passed out on the lovesac. Must have been a long weekend!

That ain't the Uintahs I know.
Six feet of snow on the ground, all summer long.
Seems like it every time I've been up there. :)

Looks like a great time. If you ever come to Central Utah, email me. I'll show you some nice places to go. I really need to get up to the Uintas one of these days.

You bet wildman, wish I could have hit up one of your outtings this year, I just keep leaving the country at the best times here, well just leaving this country is a BAD time, people really have no idea how nice WE americans have it until you really see how bad it can get out there. But I will catch up with you probally next year since I am leaving again until Feb within the next 30 days.

DP... you are about right. This was taken during Memorial day this year... But it really is nice and beautiful up there. Late June to mid Sept is the best... and the busiest.

Lovely pictures! That snow with the small waterfall is amazing! Contact me next year when you're not leaving so much. I'm heading back to College on Wednesday and will be booked mostly till next April/May when it lets out for the summer. Though I will be taking a weekend off (Sep 17th and 18th) to hike Nebo.

Would love to see more pictures of the Uinta's if you have them.

Nice pics! One thing I regret about the time I lived in UT was that I never got over to the Uintas.

Oh Man!
What a wonderful thread to offer my first post here on the BF! I so miss home!!
There for a moment I thought the first two pics were Tibble Fork... I was back in UT about 3yrs ago but it was just to be with my mother as she passed... I got no time in the Wasatch or Uintas just tending to ma'Maw...

I've been in the South West Desert since about 2003 and in then in the Central Atlantic coast for the last year and a half and darned near every where in between at one time or another and I still haven't been somewhere that was as endearing and beautiful as UT! I do hope to get back sometime soon... Thank you for the pics of your family and the great country you and I call home.
