I'm looking for a higher quality knife(like a CRK 25) and my budget is 750. Recommendations please! Production or Custom or Midtechs are all okay

There's no way I'd pay $750 for any modern production knife. You can get a custom to your specs for that.

For $750 I would definitely go custom unless you get a Bodega (not field grade for over $600 though) or a Rockstead (usually cost more). Look at customs, it really depends on your personally preferences. Jason Clark does good work and is not to expensive, just throwing him out as he is a recent maker I have dealt with and he is becoming more popular (rightfully so). Just look on some of the custom knife webstores and look for a maker you like and then research his knives as much as possible. I am on a list for Lambert but it is a long list which you will run into with many makers or their books are closed completely. For production the only thing I would look at would be a Unique Sebenza or a Strider SMF and neither will get close to your max price range.

What are you looking for in a knife. Certain makers specialize in certain types of knives. There are literally dozens of makers who's products are stunning yet might not be what your specifically looking for. Do you have any deal breakers? Do you want a flipper? a certain type of lock? Bearing pivot or no? All these details will help narrow your search.

In your price range:
Lacanico-good luck
Kirby Lambert
Krein
Calavera Cutlery
George
JB Stout
Blount

but to be honest, a Sebenza 25 is as good.

Go on the "Custom" board and start looking thru the Gallery.

And no, a Sebenza is not as good. Nothing against Chris (I bought one of my first customs off him back in 1987), but a knife you spec is going to make you happier.

Deal breaker would be 1. Bead blast 2. a blade that's shorter than 3"

There's a thread on here somewhere about makers who do work with really close tolerances. It had a ton of names in it.

The "hosted knife maker forum" has forums hosted by bunch of makers there are pictures and info about the knives and the makers. At the price point you are looking for there are still a lot of makers that you could afford. You may want to narrow the search by over all stile, steel type, and handle material.

Bodega on the exchange. I have seen them go for 700 (while I dont have money LOL)

Strider SnG CC is a great solid hunk of knife. I have gont through so many knives, Hinderer, Microtech , CRK, spydercos high end offerings, and strider is still my favorite.

Sniper Bladeworks LPC or DH! Way with in your budget and amazingly built!

Buy a ZT 550 Gen 2 and scoff at how those higher priced folders aren't better... Except for tolerances. I can deal with undetectable variations to get a price tag of under half with a stellar warranty on top of it. You can even get a sweet custom scale and be way under you budget.

I suggest the 550 because the two I have had were basically perfect. The first was actually totally perfect in every way. Ridiculously smooth action, opened like it had bearings, perfect lockup, everything lined up right. The second has two miniscule defects. The G10 scale is under 1mm smaller than the liner, and the centering isn't perfect (a little to the lock side). Otherwise the knife is flawless. Yes, ZT doesn't have the warranty of Strider, but new blades are only $30 and they cover everything else that isn't abuse related. I have found the knife to perform everything a knife as svelte as a Delica can, and can even handle some thrashing.

Everybody else might laugh, but I have handled a Sebenza and even an Umnumzaan, and I can tell you that they have very little over the "lowly" 550. Okay the Umnumzaan has the sweet roller ball lock, but that's about it. Think of it like this: you can get a Ferrari... Or a higher end Corvette that is track tested to perform about the same. The only difference is that one of them isn't as flashy, doesn't have the "soul" (that some people are brave enough to admit is a farce... a tool is a tool, soul is only there if you want it to be), and it costs a whole lot less. And the parts are easier to come by and cheaper (ZT practically gives away anything on the knife aside from blades and handles).
