Higher quality Svord Peasant?

I've recently found myself enjoying a Svord Peasant for EDC, but kinda hate how cheap it feels. The scales are mismatched, don't line up and kinda wobble.

That got me wondering, are there any higher end knives out there of similar design to the Svord but with much better fit and finish? If so, which?

Thanks for your time!

I would think you could have a custom friction folder along the lines of the Svord made up pretty inexpensively. I see several top makers with friction folder designs going for between 2-400, I guess it depends on how "higher-end" you're looking for :)

Look around the Exchange and see if there are any makers who's style you enjoy and see what they could put together for you. :)

Several people have re-handled their svord's as well - not terribly difficult. Even a very basic tweak, I have removed my scales (on the wood version), sanded and shaped them to match, and feel better - then reassembled to good effect. Painless and fun to experiment when the original only cost $15.

They put out a run in buffalo horn not too long ago. If you look around you might still be able to find one.

Snody makes some very nice friction folders, although they're a good bit flashier than a Svord. There have also been some very fine examples in the custom maker's section here lately. Some modern and some a little more traditional looking.

I didn't like the feel of my mini peasant when I received it so I made my own scales out of G10 and added FB washers. Now it is solid and smooth.
