I have been revisiting some models that I haven´t made for a while and, after the Lost in Boston FB, here is a model of folding knife I made in several variations over the years.
It is, of course, my interpretation of the Japanese higonokami friction folder theme, here crafted with copper handle slabs textured with crack lines, brass pins and back spacer, brushed stainless steel screw heads and a lightly colored titanium clip. The blade is raindrop pattern damascus steel. The funny name was given to it by Michael Meyer (aliaswonder, who at the time also worte an article about it for a French magazine) when I started showing the first version I made, over a decade ago.
It was the first time I used a clip on this model as well as nylon washers - these wahsers are the only non-metal parts on the knife and make it open and close super smoothly and consistently.
This was a cool project and I was crazy to see how it would look after finished. Now I am thinking of some variations on the finish and materials for the next ones
