Higonokami San Mai Blade

Hello,
I just etched the blades on my Higonokami to reveal the different steels, blue paper in the middle and iron on the outsides.
But it seems that there are THREE steels used!
On the spine you can see a darker steel, different to the blue aogami used for the edge.
What do you think, three steels in a <30$ folder???

Very interesting Nicolas, been too long since I carried mine :thumbsup:
 
That is interesting and a neat reveal, although I'm uncertain as to the answer I agree with Jack that has been to long since I have carried mine. I've always liked the simplicity and functionality of the Higonokami:thumbsup:

I now heared that most probably these blades are differently heat treated so there is a hamon in the middle layer..
