Got out for a few hours to hike around a local lake, and do some fishing with my boy...We hiked around the lake through some pretty sloppy ground so the camera stayed in the bag. Saw enough trash to make me wanna puke. Got to do some hand fishing and played around with some knapping and using diferant rocks for tools. Didnt take many pics, but heres some. Neat area. It was 92 degrees yesterday, and 40 and windy today. Love MO weather..... Oh, and we didnt catch a thing. Not even a nibble. Unless you count the dead beaver I hooked.

Started at the other end and worked our way around to the backside where we fish this small pond past the spillway that empties into a creek. Weve always done good there, just not today.

Spring Fork

Not much longer and this place will be overgrown with gooseberry.....

The creek beyond the pond. We walked up a ways and found a big ol fat beaver floating dead. I hooked it and drug it up on the shore....

Nice pics , looks like you had a good time. It's always nice to get out with the kids and experience the outdoors.

Good stuff Jake!

Good to see Spring has come to MO.

I have been seeing some signs of spring as well. Daffodils are coming up, and I spotted some Wild Onion on a hike today.

I also found this guy in my yard.

His friend was a little shy though..

Great pics J, looks like a cool area to be in. Our weather is funky too, so don't feel too bad. I got sunburned on my afternoon hike yesterday, today it's cloudy and chilly. Go figure!

great stuff Jake.. looks like a nice day out..

we're heading down south this weekend, for the Chamberlin Ranch 3-d shoot... i can't wait.. i have been looking forward to it for weeks..

Great pics Jake, you shoulda tried the UNK out on the Beaver and seen what ya could make outta the fur......coulda been sporting a nice hat next winter, LOL !

Thanks guys.....It was a nice day.

Tony I spotted some wild garlic, and some small mayapples too. Spring is on us. Went to a bigger lake yesterday and caught 15 Crappie. It was nice and warm outside, and the Morels will be up soon. I was fishing some small minnows with no luck, but they loved the white/red jig....

I thought about it. Was gonna take some fur for bow silencers and fly tying... Untill it got to shore and the smell hit me :barf:.....Take a braver man then I to go near it with a sharp edge......:D

Oh man.....Thats the one you seem to look forward to every year if I remember correctly. I hope you folks have a nice trip down, and do well at the shoot.....Nick gonna show up to shoot too?

Good eye Dane....Yup. Thats the spot for the cats. I pulled some good sized ones out of their last summer. Biggest was around 12lb. Nice fillets off that one. I am not much for any bigger then around 15lbs....The seem to taste more skanky to me.

Nice stuff J.

We've got patches of ramps coming up. I took a couple on Sunday. They are still very small and not really ready yet for harvesting, but I needed some flavor in my noodle soup!
