Finally got a day off today, and made the best of it. Me and my roommate went for a nice hike in the taylors falls area(on the WI side). The area is pretty cool, lots of cliffs and amazing geology.

Beautiful St. Croix river valley

I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I did

Yeah, we were just hiking today. It's about an hour from my house, the sites are family camp style all next to each other. It's a cool place though

Looks like a fun place, and a fun hike. I like rocky areas, always have, always will.

thanks for the pics Etac

Looks like a great time. Nice area, thanks for posting.

I love Taylor Falls! Haven't been there in years. Thanks for sharing the pics, it looks like it was a great hike.

Well the next time we head out that way I'll let you know :) Not sure how far from there you are, but BH's are always welcome :D

Awesome! We drive through there on 8 on the way to the cabin but haven't got out to walk around since I was a kid. Might have to go do some exploring with the wife next time.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Looks like a good time. Thanks for posting. What did you use to make your tree straps for your ENO?

I used to live just south of there (Marine on st. Croix) and Taylors Falls is a lovely place. It really can get crowded on a nice day though. The St. Croix is the river that started the whole wild rivers act. Looked like you had a great time.

We were on the WI side, and its less crowded for sure.

I just used nylon webbing from rei, doubled up and fed the knotted through the loop. When you put weight on it, it pulls tight.

nice! we have something similar to that here too and it's called the "lemon squeezer" on the trail map :) after watching "127 hours", i will not walk between it!

Great pics! Taylors Falls is a really cool area. I've been there a few times. The Wisconsin side it definitely the place to hike, the MN side has some cool areas, but not nearly as much as WI.

I'm in the SE corner of WI. It might be an option, though, I've got a ton of time off built up.

I was planning on going to the "lemon squeezer" a few weeks ago when I was backpacking along the AT, but it started to storm so we decided to go the short way to camp so we wouldn't get too wet.

Looks like a great time, and I bet you had loads of fun!
