Went for a coastal hike with forum member Satsumatengu today. The weathermen were fortunately wrong about the rain they had predicted but there sure was some rough sea to look at !
I showed ST the Petroglyph on the rocks.
Lots of Bear berries lined the trail, not the tastiest berry in the world but still food if needed !
Gnarly trail !
Maisy loves this hike !
ST stopping for a break, Snicker thought he had some treats !
Even the pine cones look nicer in this area !
This tree looked like it was trimmed up for Christmas !
I swear Snicker is gonna get washed away one day !!
I love this rock formation!
Adding Balsam resin to even the wettest tinder such as this soaked Old mans beard allows you to light it with a ferro-rod very easily !
Another pic of ST.
There were also lots of Rose hips to be found, another great source of nutrition !
They were a good size !
Now for a few pics of ST's new knife. It was made by Clint George of Iron Indian Steelworks, knives are just one of the items he crafts at his shop. This knife is more of a hunting type knife and is made from reclaimed saw steel and has antler handle slabs.
Even the sheath is crafted using steel !!!
Crazy mirror finish eh !
Hope you liked the pics.
