Here's a Work in Progress thread for a custom/prototype Hiking Buddy that I'm building. This sheath is me practicing with some new tools and techniques. Hope you enjoy following along with the build.
Here you can see the sheath laid out with double stitching and tooled border. It's also been distressed and has an Imperial Shuttle looking mark in the middle. This sheath gets a Low-rider AKA Backpacker friendly belt loop. I have not used this border stamp much and need practice with it. . .
----- Update -----
The belt loop and mouth of sheath are all edged and blackened
Belt loop glued and stitched in place.
----- Update -----
Welt glued
Stitching the welt
Rough edge before edging
The edge is clean and prepared for burnishing
All burnished
----- Final update -----
Applied the edge coat and leather dressing, then polished.
The sheath with my new Hatchet. Figure I'd throw this picture in for fun
This sheath is going up for sale in the next few days. Thanks for following along!
