Some late april snow on saturday saw my girlfriend and I freezing our butts off at a local maple syrup festival (how Canadian eh?). The weather today was much nicer, although still cold, it was nice clear skies. We decided to go for a hike in Awenda provincial park which is about 15 mins away. We took some lunch, and I brought my little MSR stove so we could make some hot chocolate.
The after a while we hiked up the far side of this bluff and came down these wooden steps on this side.
This area was all formed by glaciers, there is a lot of big rocks through this area.
We managed to perch a phone on a rock for a picture
Eventually we made it to our lunch spot at the beach, although it looks nice it was still only a couple degrees out.
Making some coffee crisp hot chocolate, my BK14 standing in as a stirring utensil.
The Beckers I had with me today, I'm really loving my bk15!
On the way out we noticed this dead birch tree with a frozen sap icicle hanging from it.
We also spotted this massive knot that was almost twice as wide as the tree itself.
