Yesterday I went to little hike near capital of Croatia Zagreb, and visit ruins of old castle built in 1260. It was a stone fortress built on solid rock - in an irregular and indented layout, which consists three parts, of which the central core -is the oldest. In the southeastern part of the core is the high guard tower (today in ruins), the only remaining original part of Ottokar castle.

It's was a beautiful trip, great outdoors with combination of old history.

You can also see my BK2 in the stone :)

Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing. I have always wanted to go to Croatia, its been on my bucket list for a while.

Really cool pics and a beautiful environment. I really need to visit Croatia one day, it's not all that far anyway.
Welcome to the EU as well :)

Wow, and we make a big deal if a building is a hundred years old. Fantastic thread.

Man, Croatia is a beautiful place. Thanks for the pics, Woody. I've wanted to visit for years, especially Dubrovnik, despite its apparently becoming a major tourist attraction. Some day...

Yeah,Dubrovnik become elite tourist location, celebs like Beyonce,Jay-Z ,Bill Gates and other visited it. But, despite that,I can asure you it's still worthy to visit it,it's unique opportunity to see
Diocletian's Palace, built in 4th century ,remarkable piece of once great Roman Empire.

Very nice. Looks like they used some kind concrete or cement to hold some of the stone walls together. Always fascinated at seeing how creative humans can be with a pile of rocks. The minimalist in me loves to see simple materials transformed and used in ways like this.

These are great. Beautiful area. I love the BK2 in the stone (like Excalibur). That was a nice touch to the spread.

Glad you didn't use a 9 for that. All these 9er's around here would have gone bat sh/it over it. You know, the King and all that?
