Back from a weekend hiking in the California Hills of Orange County. One day was spent hiking Limestone Canyon and the next day was spent exploring the various waterfalls along the creek in Black Star Canyon.
Limestone Canyon
They say it is the Grand Canyon of Orange County, California
Hiking trail was through miles of hills and open meadows.

Black Star Canyon is full of stories about hunting’s, Indian massacres, strange lights, a lady in white who roams the fields at night, burial grounds, etc. We saw our fair share of strange things, but I guess we will have to return for a full night out to see what really is going on there.
Strange sights along the way
I think the peacock was the strangest thing to see on the trail
Dirt time
I met Reza a few weeks ago during the Randall’s Adventure and Training Woodland Survival Course in Alabama. This dude climbed up trees, he was the first to dive in the river to take the rope across, and later went after a snake with the help of another student, Kevin. I have to say, he was the best in class! Good thing he was 1 of 3 from California and they all kicked ass.
Rock N Roll Bushcraft
Rock being used to baton the TOPS knife tip first by pounding the pommel with a rock utilizing the thickness of the blade to split the wood into toothpick size pieces.
Staying Hydrated
We played with some old knives and a new one. TOPS and ESEE knives were on hand along with the Vic Hiker.
