No, this knife was sold to a customer out of state and I don't have any updates. Wish I did. :)

What is the idea behind a saber grind for hiking or was this a customer request?

new to this so I am just trying to build some knowledge
 
The saber grind on a thin blade like this leaves it a bit stiffer overall. Lots of folks like the look of the saber grind on thicker steel too, and on knives made for batoning (not this one). It gives steeper bevel angles, if that's your cup of tea.
