Figured I'd make one thread instead of cluttering things up =)

1. I can't figure out how to use the molle lock system included with my Izula. Can anyone assist?

--------------------------------------
2. I just looked into my hiking pack and realized I have an overkill situation with the following:

1 Izula - safety orange wrapped, firesteel on lanyard with whistle

1 Benchmade Griptilian - Olive drab, black blade, combo edge, lanyard

1 Benchmade Mini Griptilian - Olive drab, black blade, D2 straight edge, lanyard

1 Swiss Army knife Camper

1 Ritter MK5 survival knife (inside pocket survival pack)
-----------------------------------

Looking at this situation now, I probably would have been more than fine with just the full sized grip, and the RSK MK5 in the survival pack. But after purchasing the Izula, it seems more capable, even if the blade is shorter and doesn't have serrations. Also I have it configured in such a way that the firesteel and whistle are on the lanyard of the actual knife, so although the sheath has its own lanyard, in an emergency if I reach for the knife and pull it out of the sheath, I have the knife + paracord + whistle + fire rod.

The problem is over redundancy. I have the knives above, 1 mini photon II led lamp, maglite, a first aid kit, tinder inside the "emergency pouch." Then inside a water proofed altoids tin I have a back up gerber infinity II task light, a firesteel scout, and some tinder, and some water purification tablets.

Then I have a AMK pocket survival pack, to which I added water purification tablets, eGear pico led light, another Photon II led light, and the Ritter MK5.

Granted all this stuff doesn't weigh that much, but I feel like there is probably a lot of redundancy here, especially considering its all in the same bag.

Which knives should I get rid of?

I would eliminate all the knives but the Izula and the Swiss Army knife. Keep at least two lights because they can die.
I'm not sure what your question is regarding the molle lock. It's not complicated but they can be tough to operate, I personally hate them.

I think it should have come with two screws but I don't have the kit so I may be wrong. I know it will mount along one side of the sheath for vertical carry, can't recall off hand if it will mount in a way that allows horizontal carry.

Drop the two grips and the ritter and put in a real fixed blade in the 3-5 inch category if laws permit. As far as the rest of your gear; there's nothing wrong with a little redundancy but you're a little OCD with it.:D I try and limit my redundancy to 3's. Three ways to do fire etc. And drop by the wilderness sub-forum! :)

I agree with 3 as well. I carry a fixed blade, a tough folder and an SAK Farmer. That is plenty.

Kreole: I just can't figure out how to attach the molle lock to the sheath itself....

Is this the attachment I should be using to get the izula on my belt or backpack?

The molle lock RAT provided was garbage and didnt secure to Molle well due to the forks being angled instead of straight.

Let them know and they'll send you a new MOLLE lock to replace the defective one.
