Hello all,
I headed out to my shooting club today to throw some lead, and found out that they have a couple of hiking trails I didn't know about. As always, I had a nice little pack with me so I found the trailhead and snapped some pictures on the way.
The one trail I tried wasn't much, just a little ~15 min trek to a very pretty view, but you can get down a little further if you're feeling adventurous. I was feeling very curious today, but the place closes at sunset so I was running too low on time.
I got to whittle some goofy things with my mora (the new sheath I made held up great and rode at a good height). The Fiskars was a lot of fun and handled very well.
I couldn't find any fatwood, but I did find some cedar. I had to steal some bits of it, it's one of my favorite smells on earth. I couldn't get a chunk large enough to carve.
At the end of the trail it's a view from a cliff edge. There's a very full river at the base and then some very tall cliffs at the other side. The cliffs encircle the entire club.
Here's the view at the trailhead:
The track of a deer I scared away..
Enjoy the pics!
