HIKV symptoms exacerbating; need to see customized work as a palliative measure...!

I'd very much enjoy viewing any special carvings that the Hawaris have done on H.I. khukuri handles. Likewise, any links showing the "one off" customizations executed by the Kamis on blade furniture would be appreciated. Lastly, has any forumite had the Sarkis perform any special tooling on a standard H.I. scabbard? Colors can be described, and I'd like to hear about that too. For the other requests, "I just got's to see!"

I know for a fact that some of you SLEEPER FORUMITES are hoarding top secret stuff that you have yet to share with us severely afflicted with the HIKV. I'm only asking for a bit of compassion. :)

Those are gorgeous! If you had "Zvi type" high resolution photos, I'm sure I'd be able to see the detail the Havari was able to carve. The blades look as though you took out every single scratch, no matter how insignificant. I'll be O.K. for a while, Steve, but after 1 hour... :D Thanks for your concern at my time of need.

Please keep links to photos similiar to the ones that furguson has furnished. I'm ordering a special order Chitlangi once Uncle Bill returns to the salt mine, and would benefit from your suggestions... How can the brass furniture uprades, scabbard tooling, and handle carving be brought to the artists' full potential?

I really appreciate further input; please bear with me, I'm almost cured. Well, I'll be cured at least until the next khukuri is ordered. :) Thanks everyone for sharing the top secret stuff too...

Steve?

Those are truly lovely. Did you do the Tru-oil routine on the handles, or did they come to you with that finish?

(Really pretty, really...I mean...really.)

(I like the accompanying knives a bunch too. Er, do you keep them someplace special in your house when you go out? Just asking, you know...no reason.)

Dan pay special attention to the one on the top left. It's an "As forged Chainpuri blade" that I bought from HI and finished myself.
And I also made the sheath.:D
The khukuri has copper furniture and an African Blackthorn handle.

Edit:
I don't understand why the link isn't working. I've posted this pic here in the forum before. :grumpy:
However if you want to see it you can cut and paste it into your browsers address box.

Edit II:
There, I changed it to a clickable link. Thanks Keith.:)

The pics are not the greatest, Yvsa, but the Chainpuri is the one which immediately caught my eye. I blew up the pic, and saw some of the details; nice customizations. :) Thanks!

Well, DrDan, lemme see. To save time emailing images, I'll post the link to the threads:

My custom work:
1. AK blueing and gold gilding of the Sword of Shiva, pic #3, #6
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ghlight=look into the sarkis art&pagenumber=3

2. 21" GS etching and bluing, now in N2S's collection,

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=1645057

3. YCS lay-flat lefty scabbard, with rattlesnakeskin throat
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ghlight=look into the sarkis art&pagenumber=3

4. AK Bowie etching, and I'm fileworking the spine currently to match the etched feather pattern. The second pic shows a light mod to the bowie sheath, moving the retaining strap down to the throat of the sheath:

5. Six HI seax etchings, seen in various threads and the HI site, and page 1 and 2 of this thread:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=271433&highlight=Bowie+etch*

6. Added thumb traction filework to the spines of two Biltons to allow for secure choked up grip (sorry, no pix yet)

7. Etched two Pen Knives (Pen's and Mpisi's) to get them to look like Pendentive's original CAD art, and added filework to the buttcap of Mpisi's:

One offs and rares:
I assume you've seen me with the HI Falcatta on the website, it has a
wonderful carved wooden scabbard with metal edging, throat, and chape. The HI seax for course, and the YCS are outta print fer the most part.

I guess that about covers it. I have more in the works, if i werent so darn lazy!

Keith

well, because we basic members lost that fun little posting trick inn the last BF overhaul. Kinda sux, but there's always the gold membership that beckons...Too bad I'm so cheap

Keith

Wow! Nice work, Keith... :) It's amazing what blueing will do for a blade; the GS takes on a dramatic look with it. Your etchings also are very well done. I have seen the photo with the HI Falcatta, and it really impressive. Lots of ideas now... Best wishes, and thanks!
