Thanks to the special sales and offerings in the past few weeks I've now completed my collection of the Chiurra series that Thamar makes.

L to R, B to T: Tin, Dui, Yek.

I think he makes the best new-old style khukuris out there. From the wide leaf shaped blade, fullers, curved handles that follow the blade sori, crisp sharp detailed cho, and minimal cho creep, I think I might only get his work exclusively going forward.

In case you are wondering why the Yek finish looks different, I had a different leather sheath made for it so I treated it with Froglube so its a dry finish, the Tin and Dui have a lighter coat of Fireclean.

Nice blades!! I do believe the Smasher got added to the "Thamar family" but I can't remember who upped the anti :b

I will absolutely second the opinion that Thamar does the best new/old style khuks. I only have a Dui from him, but I love it. The handle is short and fat and quite curved, which I initially though would all be detrimental to it's position on my "list," but it seems as though those qualities are actually some of the things I like best.

Yeah I heard about adding the Samsher, I think that was Ndogs doing.

I have the trifecta and even had a couple duplicates which I gifted forward much to the joy of the recipients.

Now the search for the perfect Samsher even though I'm beat already. Gotta keep up with anyone I can keep up with. Not Ndog of course or BB of course but I won't give up.

HIKV have become competitive.

My Dui is the largest and heaviest of the trio. They will both be sent off to Creger Leatherworks for a convex edge sharpening soon!

I think the curved handle that follows the blade sori is the way to go.

Yeah! Now I need to add a Thamar shamser while I continue to look for Thamar deals to snag to buy as gifts for family and friends!

The only downfall to gifting these beauties is it breeds competition in the shark tank. But that's ok I'm usually in the poor house anyhow and I'm so used to it, it feels completely normal.

I do like giving one away now and then, painful as it may be but nice at the same time.

Yep! Its my fault! I had the first trifecta. I added the Samsher just cause it was a Thamar and it crowned the whole set! I think it is a welcome icing on the trifecta cake! Gotta keep the HIKV alive and strong. I as well gifted my duplicates away but these blades rival Howards Liberty series. You got to have them all! Thamar is a once in a lifetime Kami like many other HI Kamis and we can thank Mrs Martino and Kami Sherpa for their relentless search for the best talent Nepal has to offer! We are the lucky ones! We should do our best to take care of these Kamis the best we can. When people are taken care of and have good health they prosper and we all prosper. Thank you Aunti Y for allowing us to better their lives!
