Hey,

When searching on google, I get this message:

"Himalayan Imports / BirGorkha Khukuri (Nepal)
www.himalayan-imports.com/
This site may be hacked.
Hand-forged khukuris, the knives of the Gurkhas, in a variety of traditional and modern patterns."

I ended up clicking on the site by mistake and I was sent to a strange chinese site instead that seemed to be about exchange rates and money. I can't be the only one? It seems the site was either hacked or there's a serious DNS direction problem with the host.

Be safe out there!

I'm using openDNS and the site works. Pings resolve as 72.167.0.128. Visiting the "shop" still goes to the yahoo store.

Might be more of an issue with your device or your DNS?

Edit: Interesting. I can still browse the site just fine here. But if I do a google search, get the same message and redirect to an online pharmacy. If I do a DuckDuckGo.com search, I click through just fine. So this might be a google hack or Google is just the first to propagate it.

Edit2: Bing searches are messed up also.

typing the URL into my browser brings the real website, going through google.... dick pills.

Google search for "Himalayan Imports":

Only the "Khukuris, page 1" and "Gurkhas" links connect to the real HI website. The top link and all the middle links are to the Chinese pharmaspammer's site.

Here's the redirect:

It's a strange situation. As far as I can tell (without exhaustive testing) the HI web site itself is ok. The problem only occurs when you use a URL obtained from a search engine (Google, Bing and maybe some others). Also, if you copy the link from the search engine and paste it into a browser window, it takes you to the correct HI web site.

There is something called the "Google Redirect Virus" that is apparently widespread (not new) and might be causing this. If that's the case, we would expect that some people on this forum will not experience the symptoms, since it is unlikely that all of us are infected.

Is there anybody on the forum who gets the correct HI link when you do a Google search for "Himalayan Imports" and click on the link?

Probably not a virus but an actual hack, more information on this type of behavior here:

Removed the link as it is setting off virus warnings itself.

Using my favorites link all seems normal. No redirect or anything.
I didn't try searching with Bing or the others.

I'm not the brightest light in the harbor on this computer stuff.
I had to have a fella explain reboot to me years ago, that's my go to fix for most everything now days.

I have notice some suspicious thing going on with HI website recently and I will contact the Abco/Yahoo personal right now.
Thank you all keeping eyes on HI

Good Morning to all!
I have contacted the Domain host GoDaddy personal and
redirect the Website and by tomorrow everything will be back to normal.
Thank you all for your concern

Will post the DOTD shortly
Stay tuned

DOTD!! Watch out BB I'm logged in & ready :)

The only way to beat BB is to send Yangdu an email before she posts the DOTD: "Dear Yangdu: Whatever it is, I'll take it."

Hmm, maybe that's his secret.
