Interested in the Ganga Ram,please let me be the first in line. How thick is the blade? Also, how thick is the Kobra? Thanks.

I'm not sure how to measure any of their thicknesses cuz they taper all over the place. I'll give you several from thickest to thinnest.

The Ganga is a hefty one. On the spine in front of the ricasso the calipers measure .45". The grind tapers a bit towards the tip, and likewise towards the edge. At the highest part of the curve its .40 from there to the tip. There is a flat grind leading to the edge that begins at .25". Seems that they probably started with a 1/2" and worked on it from there.

The Kobra is .40" in front of the ricasso. It's .20" above the flat grind that tapers to the edge.

So you see, the thickness varies throughout the blade, and I'm not sure how HI measures them. They give lengths and weights. The thickest part I guess is a good gauge. So, .45 at the thickest on the Ganga, and .40 on the Kobra. Hope that helps.

The H.I. shopping site has lots of info too. It's here: http://yhst-7333098713883.stores.yahoo.net/

Howdy. No it's not a fuller like on the UBS, but it's not a flat grind either. There's a wave through the blade is the best I can describe it.
