SOLD
Relatively rare HI 30" (OAL) Sirupati by Kami Kumar. Weight is 45 oz. Black buffalo hide covered scabbard with HI superfrog and karda and chakmak (both 8") in excellent condition. Knife is unused, uncarried and unsharpened. Dark Satisal wood handle with some fancy dense grain for that wood. All fittings are brass. Knife to scabbard fit is very good. This is a lively blade and the handle is a big reason why, being excellently fitted and balanced.
Paid $175 for this knife in 2004, but one cropped up recently for the first time in a while from HI and sold for $150, so that is the new factory standard for this size. I will ship priority mail anywhere in the CONUS for that price. Add 3% for PayPal.
A couple of things: after another sale the buyer (who is a very good guy) was concerned about some of the features of the HI knife he bought. These are hand forged blades made by guys with a pile of hot coals, a 3" square anvil and a hammer.
On this knife there are no remaining hammer marks, and it is highly polished with a brass inlaid Sword of Shiva. Buttcap is tight with no edge to it. I am the original owner. Pic 1 shows the knife with a 15" BAS for comparison purposes.
PayPal to confirmed addresses only unless I know you from the Cantina.
Thanks for looking!
