(all khukuri's come with the standard HI sheaths leather sheaths, except the gelbu special style one wich comes with a sheath that has nicer softer leather then the HI's, but doesnt come with the super frog. instead, the belt loop is held on by 4 nails on the back side, wich is how i beleive HI used to do theirs. that being said, chances are there isnt anone who is reading this who is tall enough to actually wear the 43" blade on their belt for any length of time)

12" ang kholaSOLD
maker: amtrak
total length: 12 3/4"
thickness: 5/16-3/8" (fattens out near the bend)
weight: 13.2oz
weight of rig: 1lbs 2.6oz
length of karda: 4 3/16"
length of chakma: 4 1/2
length of blade edge: 6 3/4
usable area of handle (bell to begining of habaki (end of handle roundess)): 4 1/2"
circumfrance of handle:3 1/2"
handle material: wood
condition: user. butt plate and habaki have had superglue fills to get rid of sharp edges, and the handle and habaki have been sanded down to 320 grit to give them better grip. the blade has been resharpened to around 26 degree's, wich changes near the tip and the curve, since that would have taken over the main bevel on those. closer to around 40 on the curve and tip. beveled edge, not convexed. blade has been used, and has some scuffing near the sweet spot as well as a slight deviation from the sharpening. blade could easily be hand sanded back to mirror.
26.5" chiruwa ang khola SOLD
maker: kumar
total length: 26 3/4"

length of blade edge: 18
length of handle(top of habaki to peened tang): 7 1/4
usable area of handle (bell to begining of habaki): 6"
circumfrance of handle: 5 1/8"
handle material: horn
condition: butt plate, habaki and exposed tang/tang pins have had superglue fills to get rid of sharp edges, and the handle and habaki have been sanded down to 320 grit to give them better grip (wich is definitely a benefit on such a large heavy blade). the blade itself is factory condition. the handle is a hand and a half size, a full hand plus 3 fingers. its a very usable size one handed, and works well with the hand and a half for chopping.

length of blade edge: 21 1/4
usable area of handle (bell to begining of habaki): 7
circumfrance of handle: 4 3/8
handle material: wood
condition: factory condition. the karda and chakma on this are interesting, in that they are thin and long compaired to the normal sized karda and chakma.

43" Gelbu Special style blade SOLD
maker: unknown
total length: 43
thickness: 9/16
weight: 7lbs 6oz
weight of rig: 10lbs 6.6oz
length of karda: 11 3/4
length of chakma: 11 1/3 (1/4 thick (convex edge))
length of blade edge: 30 1/2
usable area of handle (bell to begining of habaki): 10 3/4
circumfrance of handle: 5 5/8 (oval, not round)
handle material: rose wood
condition: the blade has some scuffs in it from photographing that could be hand sanded out, and it has grind lines from a grinder that came from whereever it was produced. it was definitely ground on a machine (to get the bevels and such). the blade is a gelbu special style, meaning it has one large fuller that runs the length of the blade. the handle on this is an oval rather then the normal round like on the HI'S. its made out of i beleive rosewood, and it could be absolutely bueatiful with the right wood finish. you can see some burling effect in the chakma, its just to dark to really see any of the grainlines that are so plentiful in it. the handle is a full 10 3/4" (non habaki), so its a full on 2 handed handle, and is a more accessible oval shape then the massive rounded handles on the larger hi's. not to sure how the oval shape will do with heavy chopping (if you really wanna try chopping with a 118oz knife) compared to the rounded though. the but plate isnt flush against the wood, and the bolster has a little bit of a groove that should be filled in with epoxy/laha.
the karda on this is pretty impressive, one of the nicer knives i actually have to be honest. its a fully convex blae with a very usable blade curve. its got a very big handle thats good for choking back on for chopping, and is overall an excellent hard use knife. total edge on the karda = 5 1/2".
