I bought my wife a purse from the Christmas deals for 12/3. Exploring it on Christmas Day, she found a Nepal 10 rupee note tucked away in a zippered pocket.

Enclosing a small coin or greenback for luck with a purse or wallet is a gesture I would expect from a friend, not a merchant. Little things like this have reconciled me to owning a collection of khukuris, swords, Indonesian disemboweling knives and god knows what else, though I originally came here looking for a gardening tool.

Very cool.

I have a small collection of the little kukri pins Yangdu mails out every so often.

I'm not sure I ever said how much I appreciate little gestures like that. Good thread.

Thanks Yangdu!

Holy cow, the wife just checked one of the umpteen zippered pockets in the purse Yangdu brought her back. You're right:)! There it was tucked away.

She's carried this almost everyday since she got it. Funny how you miss stuff like that:D Thanks so very much, Yangdu;)

This has always amazed me..... The things that Yangdu does for us.
From including pins to stashing extra blades in our orders.
Who does that these days?.....not many people i know of.
It just makes ya feel like family...and is just one of the many reasons i'll fall all over myself to help out as much as possible around here.

Not too long ago i had lost faith in my fellow man and had learned to guard myself and admittedly become a bit selfish and ornery..... her grace and humbleness has shown me much and restored my faith in humanity( you all have helped too!), let me open up and try my best to do selfless acts on my own whenever possible. For this i'm truly and eternally grateful. Thank You Yangdu!

What a Great Thread!!
'Tis true that You never know what will be in the package when it arrives....Sandy and I had multiple NICE surprises in the Blades we received recently.
The HI Community is really spoiled by Yangdu:)
Thanks so Very Much Yangdu!
And Thanks for starting this Most Excellent thread Piso Mojado!!
Regards to all,
Ed n Sandy

I noticed the envelope... it had a hand written Happy Holidays! and a Nepal pin inside... it made my day. I truly appreciated the nice little touch. Sometimes giving that little extra makes it all the more meaningful. Let's all be just a little more thoughtful and charitable this year to those who deserve it.

I received a nifty little gift in my latest package from Reno along with a Mt. Everest post card! Many thanks as always to Yangdu.

It's folks like Yangdu, sadly rare, that restore one's faith in Adam Smith. Why the hell can't CEO's of big businesses be this concerned with being a superior merchant of a superior product?

Thank you all for the kind words

Some of the most special gifts I and my Ladies have are from Yangdu.
Being here, with you fine folks, has grown my heart in a way I really don't know how to explain:)

Where else but HI would unexpected and undeserved gifts be offered with such resulting surprise and delight? :o

Yangdu is truly one-in-a-million; last Christmas she gave me a baby chitlangi; I had ordered it from DOTD, then found out from her that my credit card didn't go through. She sent the knife anyway, and a post card of the mountains in Nepal, and said Merry Christmas. Wow.

I was humbled, to say the least. Funny thing was, we had $1,000's available on the card; the bank never could explain what happened.

I recommend HI & the forums to anyone who needs good outdoor tools, or simply a nice handmade knife.

thx - cpr

ps - Yangdu - my son has the postcard tacked up on his world map in his room. He can't locate too many places, but he knows where Nepal is. ;)

I like threads like this, I haven't been around the khukuri world very long but I am becoming more and more interested. When you like in Australia planning a purchase like this can take a great deal of time to work out the details, knowing the person I am doing business with inspires this kind of love from people like you guys makes me feel better. Now I just have to decide which one I want, another horizon to explore :)

Welcome aboard. But from personal experience don't stress with your first purchase because it won't be your last. Instead get the one which appeals to your eye the most, contact Yangdu, pay for it and in less than a week it will be in Aussieland. ;)

Not really stressing about my first purchase so much as which one appeals to me most ;) I know it won't be my last purchase you don't find a product and service like this very much at all. Maybe this is a question for another thread but does HI do completely custom blades?

I too have been humbled time and again by the care that both Uncle Bill (may he rest in peace) and Yanguda have exhibited in taking care of their customers... One of the many reasons that I return time and again to this site, and these knives!
