I have been reading up on this site for some time, and so far it's cool. I was just wondering if anyone here has tried the H.I. Kobra Khukuris yet. These large knives are alot lighter than the typical Khukuri. The Kobras come in : 18", 20", 25" and 30" overall length. These blades are very, very fast, and respond real well with escrima drills. If anyone wants to see them, check them out on the Himalayan Imports website. In my hands they feel like a good kumagong stick.

20 inches and less than a pound. The lightest, quickest khukuri being made in Nepal today. Very, very fast. Serious martial artists take note. Also made in 18 and 25 inch length.

I don't have one of Kumar's Cobras, but I do have one of HI's Villager Khuks.

It's a Chainpuri style Khuk, so it's not as light as a Cobra but it's probably the next lightest model. If you've seen a Sirupati style khuk, it's a lighter/quicker version. I agree they're great knives and they're tough as hell because HI builds real workers. My Chainpuri works well in the FMA frame work too.

I am considering selling my khuk though so I can buy something with a better thrusting profile.

Dave.

I train combat Kukri, check out the Gurkha House Kukri's. I used the WWII on a 4x4 and it now looks like a table leg and not one blemish to the blade.
There prices are much better and you will not be able to tell the difference. I have seen both.
