Edit: SOLD
It's not a bad khukri but I have far too many of these and have made the painful decision to get rid of some of them, starting with this one.
This one's an older M43, "railroad" (R.R.) marked, made by Raju Rasaili kami. Uncle Bill was still with us back then so there is no U.B. mark. Handle is wood of some sort -- your guess is as good as mine. Bolster appears to be white metal. The butt cap appears to be steel.
I've modified the scabbard as I usually do by shifting the frog upward; this way the entire rig hangs better and the tip doesn't point inward. Additionally I soldered a protective cap (in all actuality the exterior of a Christmas bell -- blame Kronckew) over the chape to prevent "chape poke." Both the chakmak and the karda are replacements. The karda is a WWII-era "9" marked military model and the chakmak is probably HI. Both are scratched up and ugly, and the karda is pitted. The edge is fine however.
This one was a user for some time and had a hard life. The a very small portion of the tip is gone and there are plenty of scuffs and scratches, even after cleaning and polishing. The buttcap has numerous dents and scuffs (none major, all ugly) from use as an impact tool on more than one occasion. All fittings are tight -- no shifting or play in anything, and I expect that if anything were going to come loose it would already have done so long ago. This one should last for years of hard use.
Specs:
Length: 17.5"
Weight: 26 ounces
Point of balance: 4" from bolster
$70 takes it, shipping to CONUS included. USPS money order or Paypal are fine; I'll eat the Paypal fee. If I know you from here or elsewhere I'll take a personal check as well. (Make sure to check in with me first, just in case you know me better than I know you.
)
Not really interested in trades but I do like the larger Spydercos. If you have something that you think I might want, PM me and we'll talk and figure something out.
