Just a quick note from a newbie to share my experience with HI.

I recently discovered the site by accident and I have been hooked ever since. First and foremost, this site is not just about knifes but about the people who make it and Nepal. It is obvious that far from trying to make millions out of it, Uncle Bill is more interested in helping people. That alone puts HI above the rest!

I called Bill Martino yesterday and had the most pleasant and informative discussion. Uncle Bill , you are not only knowlegeable but you are a true gentleman!

Too bad you live on the other side of the country, I would love to be able to stop by at times, share a cup of tea and listen to your fascinating experiences in Nepal. Readers, let's be clear, I did not get paid to endorse HI, but I was so impressed by the "straight talk" and no BS that I decided to call and find out more. At no time did Uncle Bill pushed for a sale. In fact, it felt like I was selling him something. Suffice to say I just emailed HI and notify Uncle Bill that instead of buying one knife...I will purchase two.

UPDATE: Just to show the customer service: I did email Uncle Bill twice today and received an answer within 15 mn, each tiime! Last time I had such a quick answer was when I anounced to my mother that I wanted to leave school ( I was only ten then)...except Uncle Bill's answer was much nicer!

Welcome to the Cantina, Pierre. And before we toss out too much praise regarding the website, Pierre, let's not forget to say that you are having trouble trying to get your order placed!!!! Seems things might be improved a little.

That's why I'm here too. Besides, after you get your first knife, they start growing on you. :)

That's why I am here, and try to be a steady customer. Uncle Bill is one of a rare and vanishing breed.

But then again, so where the DoDo's
:p

I really enjoy doing business with HI. The best customer service and most enjoyable money I have spent in a long time. It helps when the products are outstanding too!

Welcome to the Cantina Pierre. Uncle is really great to do business with. :) And the knives do grow on you like BruiseLee said.:) In August I got my first (a 15" AK) from Uncle Bill and now I have half a dozen with more on the way:p

Your assessment is right on the money :)
This is also the best group you will find on the web. The only requirements for membership is an interest in those things youhave already listed, and, perhaps, a low tolerance for too much sanity. We absolutely refuse to let those who claim to be sane ruin the world for the rest of us :D

Good news. Pierre was finally able to wade thru the net maze and get his order placed. It'll fly today or tomorrow with the usual thanks from here and Nepal and everyplace in between.

If he didn't get a villager he's going to be kicking himself.

They really are the most bang for the buck!

It is always a pleasure doing business with Uncle Bill.

As for the sometimes sureal conversation around here, welcome to the Nepal/USA branch of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

You only said that to make us look good, didn't you....Pete has already said he has genetic, er, dispositions:p

Welcome aboard Pierre, I'll take you up on that cup of tea, I am right down the road from you.

Pierre,

I'm even closer than rkenny (who, I'm sorry to say, I haven't met in person yet).

Pretty soon we'll have enough HIKV sufferers in these parts for a convention!
