Himalayan Imports is one of the very few knife sites that are NOT blocked by the SurfWatch Internet filtering program. I guess you can't really hurt anybody with a khukuri.

There is nothing extremely violent, vulgar, or obscene on the H.I. website. There are a few Gorka pictures, a bit of culture and lots of khukuri's. Why would it be blocked?

Will, one of the reasons I do not show the actual beheading in Kali or Bishwakarma puja is because I think it is in poor taste to do so. Maybe that helped in keeping us off the badboy list but I'm not sure.

Khukuri FAQ

Victorinox.com, the home of the Swiss Army Knife, and Lamsonsharp.com, home of a line of kitchen knives, are blocked by SurfWatch. Any place they find with sharp objects in it gets blocked as a "weapons" site. Estwing hatchets and hammers did not get blocked. Go figure. Their criteria for blocking a web page as "weapons" oriented and not fit for their customers' children includes firearms, ammunition, knives, and poisonous substances.

Its not blocked by BESS either. That's the filtering service my school uses. It SUCKS though, let me tell you! It won't let me on Bladeforums, presumably because of the "violent content" (yeah right!); yet I can visit Cold Steel's website! Stupidity in all of its forms never ceases to amaze me. Oh well, at least I can get a fix off of HI if I need it! Good khuks and knives have to be some of the best eye candy available, IMHO.
