Not an everyday HI item: (Check Yangdu's Deals of the Day on the HI Forum for 1/9 to see one very similar to this one. 2 or 3 have shown up since September from Bura...)

18" 27 oz. UBE with buffalo horn handle by Kami Kumar. Black buffalo hide covered wood scabbard with HI superfrog and karda and chakmak in excellent condition. Knife is unused, uncarried and unsharpened. All fittings are brass. Knife to scabbard fit is good. The blade is highly polished and nicely sharp from the factory. Buttcap is tight with no edge to it. I am the original owner.

Note: there is a small blem in the side of the horn on the karda, as shipped. (Visible in the 2nd pic.)

Selling for what I paid, which is $145. I will ship priority mail anywhere in the CONUS for that price. Add 3% for PayPal.

PayPal to confirmed addresses only unless I know you from the Cantina.

Thanks for looking!

Norm

SOLD, Thanks TJ!

Bumping in defense of the 40 new Busse threads! I'm collecting the wrong stuff! :D

Thanks!

Norm

Hi Svashtar. I took your advice and went looking for a UBE on the knife exchange. Didn't expect to see you here!

Anyway, is this guy still available?

I've always wondered if the tips on these are hardened. Do you happen to know? Thanks.

It is still available. Drop me a PM if you would like to discuss it, or email me at norm_morris@ctb.com. I tried to send you a PM but you have that option set to Off.

Thanks!

Walking man, do you mean the UBE or HI knives in general? It really depends on the knife. Most of them that I have etched or seen etched are well hardened at the sweet spot, with some hardening towards the tip at the cutting edge. The spine is always left unhardened. I don't know about the very end tip on this one as I haven't etched it.

This knife chops fine and has a great handle, at least for me.

Regards,

Norm

TJ, sorry to make you jump thru hoops but that email is for my work and I am out today. I can't PM you, so please email my BF addy (click on my user name to get it) or PM me and we'll set it up.

Thanks!

Norm
