What a time to be broke...beautiful.

You know...I have a birthday coming up.

Okay...coming up in 363 days anyway.

Maybe next year another will be available *and* I'll have money for it. Someone better jump on this one!

Wha?!?

Too pretty for me, but what lines! Horn scabbard?

Yet another handmade suprise from Nepal. Amazing.

thankgawd someone bought it.

if it came to my house it would have been known as "mike's burial knife."

Stunning. Someone needs to hurry up and speak for that thing before my hands accidentally send and e-mail I shouldn't and my heart will regret I didn't.:D

What pretty work. About the same size as a Cherokee Rose. Only horn scabbards I have seen previously were on a dhankuta kothimoda, and those dried up a couple of years ago. I ordered one way back when but it came with a silver scabbard instead.

I love the inlay on that handle, and the brass work at the throat and chape is amazing. Kumar is really growing. See the brass scallops all up and down the scabbard? I think this might be one of the more detailed knives ever offered by HI, and that price is super fair considering the amount of work involved. I also can usually nitpick on some of these specials, and find some minor thing a bit off about them, but this one is perfect. You can really tell Kumar took his time with this. Where the horn handle meets the guard?? Not a gap in sight.

(Sigh!) Boy, wish so much I had seen it first, but then again, unless HI has a revolving credit plan I couldn't have got it anyway. Hey! There's an idea! :D

Random thought: is the amount of happiness you have in your life proportional or inversely proportional to the number of pretty things you surround yourself with? Don't the Buddhists say that to truly be happy you must divest yourself of all material possessions? I think I'm on the road to happiness. ;) :D

My Himalayan Sword came with a horn scabbard. Not as nice though.

Wow. That is truly an exceptional and special piece. Quite a bit of detail work. The fit and finish looks like it's in a whole different league. The inlays are crisp and precise, the guard looks well finished, the blade superb. Outstanding work by Kumar.

wow wow wow ... so many incredible and appealing stuff come out from HI's craftmen's hands these days,

thanks! more pls! haven't had the chance to snag one of those yet ...

I hope we keep getting these new art pieces, maybe I will sign on at the right time on one of them.

WOW~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kumar you, sir, have come of age IMHO. Beautiful work.

I'd always thought Kumar was the heir apparent to Bura, but when I met Bill and Yangdu, they both believed Sher's consistancy was tops. Now I don't know what to believe. Kumar has much of the grace of line and form that Bura has.

Bura still can produce wonderful shapes as if from patents in his brain.
