I’m curious if anyone has ever tried polishing a hinderer blade with the battle black finish to get the smooth stock dlc look back. It’s possible that it can’t be undone or fixed but I would like to have my hinderer in a new dlc look rather than the battle look. I know they sell others that come in dlc without the battle effect but I’m just wondering if it’s possible to undo.

Hinderer probably would do it for you, at a cost. IDK but it seems like you would have to remove the current coating and re-do it to get the best look and performance. But what do I know, I don't even play a coatings expert on TV.

My guess is that this wouldn't work. Hinderer's Battle Black is stonewashed DLC, and it doesn't seem like polishing it would be able to put back the coating that the stonewashing has already worn away. It's an interesting question, though! I'm not positive what you'd wind up with, I just don't think it'd be clean black DLC.
