Hi. The spanto cpm20cv XM-18 is about two days old in my hands. Lovely and well built but break in? The detent is tough. Cannot use the thumb studs to open the blade at all. The flipper is killing my finger. It falls centered and closes nice. Its just that detent ball or hole!

Does this break in fairly quickly or do I need another plan? First time with a Hinderer so dont know what to expect. Hate to keep bothering Rob at Hinderer for what might just be a small thing.

What should I do to make this break in an love me properly? :) Thanks all.

You could try getting some valve lapping compound on the cheap, or spend some money on diamond strop paste and spread some in the detent and hole. Then watch a movie and commence opening and closing a few THOUSAND times! LOL. Other than that, I'm not really sure.

It'll break in after awhile, mine did, maybe put a drop of oil on the detent ball. Hope it smooths out soon

Thanks for the thoughts. It flips fine . I wonder if I just pull the blade out a bit past the detent stick and push it back in and do that like 1000 times.... LOL
