I'm new here and have been lurking for several days. I'm getting back into knives again and am at the point in my collection for wanting a hinder. I like the slicer grind but my delima is in choosing between an xm18 3.5 and an xm-24. I currently carry a CRK Sebenza 21, but do not mind larger blades. I have a HEST/F mil spec on the way also which should cover my smaller blades for now. In the past I have carried a zt 301 and have also at one time carried an Emerson super commander as an EDC. Can't really get a good idea of just how big the xm-24 is. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It depends on what it's going to be used for. If you want a tough knife that will do absolutely everything you ask of it, but won't necessarily work for finer slicing tasks, go for the XM-24. If you want a tough, all around knife that would be better at fine slicing tasks, go for the XM-18. I've had both, and while I love big folders, I prefer the XM-18.

With these being in such demand I would say which ever one you can actually get. =)
