What is "FFE"? Your First, Your Favorite(s), Your EDC(s) .

It's a Pic and a story thread (if you choose) Can Only have ONE "First" (;)). Three(3) Favorites (otherwise there would be countless). Three(3) EDC's (or again, how many can you feature). ALL Hinderer Lovers Welcome, your First and your Favorite and your EDC might be the same knife - All Good.
Be creative, Take a couple pics in each of the three areas and just participate and have fun. Been awhile since a new thread idea and we all love pic threads so....... WTHeck
Here is my offering:

My First: Got it before I even knew much about "Hinderer" just liked what I saw, definately didn't know Rick or Rob yet.
Was blown away when I got it. Took awhile before it became my EDC, had never carried a larger knife or anything this substantle. Love was in the air.
All bronze Ti, Spanto, Non-Flipper and sharp as hell

My "Favs" wow, tough to pick just three(3) I did it quick hoping not over thinking would pop three out for pics, who knows an hour or a day could produce numerous other picks.

Just as tough, the EDC's. Just had to be honest to myself as too who see's more pocket time "lately" no losers in this category.

Great thread Rubi...I'll come along in a little bit to participate...thanks to you I now need to go have a drink and drown my sorrows in the fact that my first Hinderer was a custom recurve with a carbon fiber scale and how I foolishly traded it away...:grumpy:

My favorites are these three {XM-24 with ti frag, Gen 2 (3.5) spanto with sand blasted ti, Gen 4 sterile slicer in black G-10} Ive had many Hinderers and these three will never leave my stable.

The two that get the bulk of the EDC duty are my gen 2 and my sterile slicer. I carry all of my Hinderers occasionally but 90% of the time one of these will be on me. They are just incredible knives!!!

Ouch! I've never even run across the chance at a recurve, sorry to hear that..

Great thread idea Rubi! I'll engage tomorrow, after some sleep (long work weekend) and a bit of pondering ;)

Cool. Hopefully we'll have some fun with it and see if it gets legs. As time does on, who knows the "mix" may change. :)

I forgot my pens! They are definately among my FFE mix. Look forward to hearing and sharing the stories associated with the pics/picks.
My First XM was also my first pretty bad cut and pass at accessorizing as well as sharpening. As I mentioned, got it before I really "knew" much about Hinderer Knives, just liked what I saw.
Pretty cool memories about when it arrived.

My first, when I won Friday's lottery at 2013 Blade. Pic right after I got back to the hotel.

My favorite and EDC

Good thread! And very hard to pick favorites!

My first, and my edc, is the XM-18 3.5" production Spanto flipper that I bought here in early 2011. The story goes, my dad bought a Buck Rush, which is an assisted flipper, so I had to do research to see what other knives had these wonderful features, and since I was already a forum junkie, I found this place. In my pursuit, the XM-18 caught my eye, but it was more than I had dreamed of spending on a knife. After my knife addiction started gathering steam, and the limit of how much I would pay for a knife kept increasing, I scored the XM here, with the thought that if I didn't like it, I could always sell it for what I paid. Yeah, that didn't happen! And while I do occasionally carry my black & blue #13 and my Blackwash, I am not hesitant to really use this one, or even loan it to a co-worker.

For my favorites, I chose the two with the most sentimental value. The working finish custom Spanto was a grail of mine, and even though I wasn't luck enough to score one, someone else scored one for me. I have this one pimped out with a pond scum scale, Steel Flame cross nut, SF Darkness clip (with trit eyes, another sentimental piece), and brass standoffs and LBS.
The other favorite is, of course, a black DLC Spanto. This one wears my one of a kind DLC titanium scale that was so graciously gifted to me by Rob, after noticing my ever growing collection of all that is black.

Cool story BT, love the insight into the addiction of all things Hinderer around here. And I'm going to throw this out there and say you're a spanto guy! Just saying :D Great pic too buddy!!

I think that custom spanto with that setup is the cat's pajamas!!! Very unlike you too, no black :)

Thank you! And yes, I love the Spanto (and the 3.5"). Aside from the strength of the grind, I think it is the multiple grind lines that do it for me. I only have two non-Spantos, a 3" Slicer and 3.5" Wharnie (both black!).
