I am looking at buying a Hinderer Half Track ... but I was wondering if there is as much difference in the detent and how well the Gen 2 flips compared to a Gen 1 like there is in the Gen 6 XM-18 vs earlier versions of the XM-18 knives?

I really like the Tri-way Gen 6 XM-18s ... every one I have gotten has been spot on detent wise and so much smoother to flip open ... so I was hoping to hear if the Tri-way Gen 2 Half Tracks are a lot smoother then the Gen 1s before I buy ...

Thanks for any input- JJ

The detent on my Gen 2 is way better than the two Gen 1 knives that I’ve handled. Way better.

Thanks ... I kind of figured that would be the case but I have never gotten to handle a half track ... I found a couple Gen 1s I really like but then thought about that issue and was leaning towards waiting until I find a Gen 2 that I like before I buy one.

I had both. Loved the gen 1 design, but the action on every one I handled was not good.

Gen 2 is amazing. I just sold my gen 2, not because it's not great, but just because I get restless to try new knives. I will prob own a HT again, but would absolutely make sure it was Gen 2.
