Hi Folks,

I'm considering a new Hinderer, but was interested in the Harpoon Spanto blade, in S35VN. It seems all newer iterations use CPM20CV. Not a major difference, just a preference due to reports from others.

That said, does anyone know if the Harpoon Spanto was ever offered in S35VN?

Let me further ask, was the Harpoon Spanto ever offered in a flipperless model?

Thanks,
Paul

Pretty sure it hasn't ever been. When it was first released it was M390 and since supplies ran dry they switched to 20cv.

Hinderer knows how to do their 20cv. I like it better than their s35vn.

Thanks for that info. I'm pleased to hear about the quality of their 20cv. While most folders will be used for slicing, one never knows when I'm going to need it to chop something, even mildly, and I don't want to see tiny chips if that day ever arrived...

Now if they made them regularly in a non-flipper. I know, everyone wants a flipper these days, but a little variation never hurt. I also like the decreased likelihood of accidental deployment that a thumb stud affords, IMO.

I agree with the others here , Hinderer 20cv is perfect for a user blade and easy to sharpen too.
