We have a Libations thread and rather than tag along on it, I thought perhaps there may be a "Secret" sub-culture of Cigar smokers in our midst. Yes - I quite often use my trusty XM18 to gently cut my cigar whilst sitting fireside.
I am "back-in" the Hobby so to speak. Got my Two(2) Diamond Crown Humidors dusted off and up and running again.
Won't mention any Retailers but certainly will provide opinions via email or PM. I imagine it is ok for us to reference a favorite smoke and certainly post pics (especially when Hinderer products are included) maybe tips and tricks as well.
Look at this as another source of info for shared hobby interests among Hinderer Herd Members.
A Cigar Chat Room for great pics! I will post mine up later when I return to my underground lair where my humidors now reside along with my Hinderers, Guns, Safes and other Toys.
I thought a Large Box of sticks was about to land here at my office (but hasn't) or the pics would be posted already.
For those new to or thinking about the Cigar Hobby - this will hopefully be a good source of information after all, what goes better together than Knives, Guns, Cigars and an Adult beverage :)

This is a pic I've posted before but my butt is firmly planted in my favorite chair, so it'll have to do until I un-ass myself and take some more :)

I started smoking cigars back in 2001 while deployed to a certain dusty sh*th0le for OEF, there were plenty on hand - mailed out to us from the folks at home.

Like many things, my cigar passion is mostly in the past. And I am a non-smoker...no tolerance for cigarettes if I can control it in my presence.

However, cigars are a different animal from the cigarettes so I do...on occasion enjoy a fine premium cigar.

My goto was the F&F Opus X. CAO, Davidoff, Cohiba, etc, etc. and countless others have been enjoyed.

There...my "secret sub-culture" contribution is out/ begins.

Very nice and you don't end up feeling like you've been
Sentenced to life before you are done with it.
I like about 45 minute cigars.

Thanks for sharing. I myself like more mild, short cigars with medium color wrappers like punch, macanudo, r&j, rocky patel....
 
Uggh..... I gotta stop looking at my favorite Cigar website. They keep having Sales! Like 75% off, Free Shipping and an additional 20% Off.
Get a Box of 20 sticks that would normally be like $300 for $59. When I can get a quality smoke for under $3 a cigar - that is tough to pass up.
I love good Cigars but, do not enjoy the price. Fill my Boxes with these deals - run out of space. Gotta love Fathers Day :)
 
What site is that Rubi?? I haven't had one in years. I smoked a pipe for a while too. Loved the cherry tobacco in my pipe.
 
sorry to resurrect an older thread, but as someone relatively new to hinderer's but a long time cigar fan I felt the need. I'm a member at a local cigar lounge and we usually talk shop about blades, guns, alcohol, and just about anything else our wives don't want to hear, and as the resident main "knife guy" there, I've shown off my Hinderer many times, where I get the usual, "you spent what?!" question/response... oddly enough from the same guys buying $400+ boxes of cigars each month.
 
Here's my Desk at the Office...... No "Sorry" Here. The Ladies get Mad at me when I torch one but... they get over it when I buy Lunch :)

 
that's a good way of showing who you buy from without saying who you buy from btw haha...
my only complaint with CI is that they don't carry my favorite cigar brand Viaje (smaller batch, boutique)... do you go to Cigar Fest being from right there? I go each year with the same group of friends.
