Hinderer issues.

Ok, so I just received my Xm-24 Bowie from Rec (no hate on them) and it came from the box with a loose spacer screw, and really slight up and down blade play. For this being my first splurge into great folders, it’s kind of upsetting that these issues arise after I’ve heard so many positives about RHK knives. Anyone else have theses problems, and any ideas on how to fix them? The problem is that these are so limited that if I return, there won’t be another to take it’s place . Thanks.

I would either send it straight to the ranch or watch a YouTube video on centering the Hinderer, loosen up all the screws and tighten down and I’d bet it’s fixed. Sounds like it’s just out of “ tune” might be it was returned to the seller before being sold again.

For sure it comes with the territory even with premium brands. I had a Covid Skinny Skinner (built during quarantine by Rick himself) have the detent ball fall out.

It is a great way to fix the knife to your liking and get to know your knife though.

IME up and down blade play of framelock folders is among the most difficult issues to be fixed by end users. Not even sure if every manufacturer is willing to permanently fix it (e.g. replacing the lock side). However, with lockbar insert it might be easier to fix. I would return the knife to the dealer right away.
