So this past weekend I got the honor and pleasure to go to the Ranch and celebrate 30 years of Hinderer Knives. Rick and the entire staff put on a heck of a good party with lots of activities included.

I hope some of the others that made it up will add some photos as well. There was so much to do I honestly forgot to take many pictures. Here are a few that I did stop to get.

Burgers and hot dogs were provided for lunch. Shortly after lunch, Rick took a group back and did a grinding demonstration. He did a Hell Fire Grind and it turned out amazing. I would show pics of the knife but I promised I would not. Here is a shot of Rick on the Grinder though!

After the Grinding demonstration, there was a fishing tournament. Not being a very good fisherman, I stuck around the shop and talked to some old and new friends. Just after the fishing tournament, there was a shooting competition that was put on by Rick's good friends and fellow knife makers, Mark and Curtis from Spartan Blades. Mark and Curtis came up with a great competition shooting 22s. You had to shoot 2 metal targets and then shoot an egg. You were competing against another shooter at the same time. First to break the egg wins. Mark and Curtis are helping the competitors and Rick is spotting to see who wins.

The winners in order from first to third from Left to Right. The prizes from Spartan Blades were awesome.

After the shooting competition, Rick brought out the big gun. This was a World War II Browning 1919 Belt Fed. He let everyone have a turn shooting it. Must say it was a highlight for me as I have never shot a belt fed weapon before.

This is Rick Shooting with Curtis from Spartan Blades feeding the Ammo.

My turn with Rick helping out. Just too damn cool!

Tim and Anne Reeve from Chris Reeve knives were also in attendance. They presented Rick with a special knife to celebrate 30 years of Hinderer! So cool they made the trip out from Idaho to celebrate.

It was an unbelievable day and a great celebration of all Rick has accomplished.

Really cool event. I have to admit, I don't know much about him as a person but I love his knives.

That looks like a fun time for sure. 30 years.. I didn't know the history was that long!

Very cool. Pics look a lot like the Sunday School gatherings at my property. I'm guessing Tim and Ann came all the way from Idaho though.

Wow that's awesome whitty... I see he's freehanding the grind like a champ, would have loved to have been there for that! How long did it take him?

Sounds like a great time thanks for sharing!

Looks fun. Yeah those knives you are referring to were posted on the Hinderer fan facebook page...sickest looking knives ever.

That's awesome, thanks for sharing. What knife was he carrying that day????

Rick is a very genuine guy who will jump through hoops to do anything for anyone. He is also very passionate when it comes to knives. Knife conversation starts and he just lights up. I think it is amazing to still have that much fire in you after doing it for 30 years.
