Hi all,
To start off, this is my third Hinderer-first custom ground. So, here's the story... I purchased this knife and after much searching, I scored the deal of a century- my first Hinderer cutstom ground XM-18 3.5 inch bowie grind. After receiving the knife, I soon discovered the definition of perfection in the knife world. The semi two-toned blade really strikes the eye and begs to be used... no safe queen here. I was lucky enough to score the knife with a full TI handle via Monkey Edge frag, and needless to say it adds to the security of the blade. Shortly after obtaining the knife, I discovered a small issue. Anytime upon flipping the blade open, I noticed the pivot would move with the blade, causing the blade to loosen and tighten upon opening and closing. With most high volume production companies, this would be an issue that would instill fear into the owner. But with a Hinderer knife, I knew all that this would require was a simple email to one Rob Orlando. After a short explanation, Rob simply instructed me that a simple shipment to the Hinderer ranch could possibly provide the remedy I seeked. Here's where the story gets interesting, I shipped the knife off with a tracking # which indicted its delivery. To my dismay, the Hinderer ranch had no knowledge of the delivery but a quick call over to the corresponding post office got me in touch with the post master general who was familiar with the Hinderer ranch and Rob Orlando. The post master general set my mind at ease by stating that he would speak to Rob in the morning about said package and email in the subsequent morning that Rob Orlando had recieved the knife and would be working on it ASAP. Not a half hour later, I recieved an email from Rob stating that the issue was fixed and was being shipped back out to me me the same day. I recieved the knife 3 days later and not only was it fixed but both the smoothest and most centered blade I have ever held. A custom ground knife via Hinderer knives is the perfect example of what a true craftsman can produce. Coupled with an ungodly crew to support him, I am hardpressed to find a better knife company. Simply put, thank you
