Got the kubaton pen set delivered today, the result of my tax refund. If you've been thinking about getting one of them, I say do it. Once it's in your hand I think you'll feel it's worth the money. The quality is excellent.

CONGRATS!!I have been wanting to get one of Rick's kubaton sets for a long time now!

Does it write nicely?

It writes well, though not as smoothly as the cartridge in the bullet pens. I believe I read somewhere that there was a Staedtler refill that fits the pen so I may see if I can give that a try for comparsion.

Very cool, and his knives look great too. Is the kubotan all steel or does he use titanium? I would expect titanium to be more expensive.

I would get one maybe I will, but at the price, a little expensive for me.

I question the same thing. I have my EDC for every incident with the exception of flying on a plane. If TSA won't permit a titanium kubaton that acts and resembles a pen on board, then what's the use of spending $236.00-$250.00 for this item....as cool as it may be?

Ach........all of us knife/tool addicted members are all the same :) . If it's cool ya gotta buy it. Well....once common sense took hold (after about an hour) :) I decided that the Rotring brass pens or pencils should do the trick as effectively as a Hinderer. They're solid, very pointy, should do the job as well as a titanium Kubaton pen and cost 1/8 the price.

But do they look cool next to a tiger-striped, cord-wrapped spork?

BTW, shouldn't a guy that makes a lot of complex kubotans know they're not called kubatons?
