I'd like to get a hinderer xm-18 at some point in the future but i've seen them in many different blade shapes. My question for you all is which blade shape do you prefer the most, I understand that they all serve somewhat different purposes but if you had to pick one for your Hinderer/edc, which one would you pick?

If I got a Hinderer I'd go with the Spear point. The Spanto is nice too

I only have one hinderer, and it's the slicer grind. It isn't much thinner than the spanto
I handled and I can tell you one thing. It's not very slicy... It seems to me that any grind you
choose is still going to act like a prybar, so just go ahead and get the one you like
the looks of the most.

Glad to hear that it's pretty much personal preference, I've been looking at a lot of the knives available on the exchange and it's got me pretty addicted to the wharncliffe style, I feel like I've gotta have one for my next edc

They all have their pros and cons, a preference thing I guess.
I don't like the word "spanto" for example, so I don't want that one. I don't prefer wharncliffes. For me - slicer grind.

I just got a wharncliffe 3.5 not too long ago and I love it so far. First wharni I have added to my collection, but won't be the last.

Out of the styles I have seen I like the spear point the best, followed by the spanto, wharncliffe, and bowie.

I only have one XM, a spear point in 20CV, and it's great, IMO the best all purpose blade Rick does right now. Slightly thinner than spanto's I have handled, and a better looking than the slicer grind IMO. a 3" wharnie or maybe a skinner (if he ever makes one) are on the short list for the next Hinderer I would buy, right behind a CF scaled flash point lol.

For me it is in order of preference the spear point, slicer, wharncliffe, spanto, skinner , bowie, they all cut it is all about what appeals to you
