Hinderer scales???

I done about a half dozen searches in different terms looking for the answer to this w/ no success. So I'll try all you Hinderer gurus out there.

I see on a certain sellers web site that he sells scales for Hinderers that fit BOTH the XM 18 3.5 AND the XM 24. So is there a difference between these two models scales or are they actually interchangeable??

They're not interchangeable. The 3" XM-18, 3.5" XM-18, and the XM-24 all have different size scales. Look on Hinderer's site or at Monkey's Edge for scales.

The scales are not interchangeable between models, but...

All 3" XM scales will fit all 3" XM-18s.
All 4" XM scales will fit all XM-24s.

The anomaly is 3.5" XM-18s. For the most part, most 3.5" scales will fit. But Titanium for 3.5" will not fit a Gen 4 with its relocated stop pin.

Early Generations of the 3.5's had partial Ti liners and other design differences from current models, but I think your question is about fitment of scales on newer production models. More information about scales on early Generation 3.5s has been posted on the official Hinderer site in the past.

Every few months the question of where to get replacement fixed blade scales arises.

The answer is often always the same...now don't do this until next week as this weekend is the NY/NJ show...but shoot Rob O. a polite inquiry. Only he has accurate info. It might not always be what you want to hear, but it's the best information on many things Hinderer.
